My Cricut
There are certain times of the day when the infomercials take over the television. Flipping from one to another, I often catch bits and pieces of gadget heaven in 30 minutes. For months, I saw the Cricut Expression commercial listed but I didn’t pay too much attention since I’m not really a scrapbooking gal. I would switch to another channel and never actually watched the program. About 3:00 a.m. one morning after dozing on the couch, I awoke to the demo showing how to do glass etching and fabric appliques with this amazing machine. I was hooked. I needed this Cricut but I found out after a little research, that there are other models besides the Expression. The Create and Personal Cutter are smaller more portable versions and a little less expensive too.
My daughter-in-law does make beautiful scrapbooks and has the Create, so I opted for the Cricut Personal Cutter. You see, each machine comes with a different cartridge (the heart of the system) so if I purchased this model, we figured out that we could swap the cartridges and double our collection. I’ve been recycling candle containers by etching on the glass which is a fun five minute project with Armour Etch. The fabric appliques are next on my agenda, so I will keep you informed.
